Camp Counselor/Cabin Leader
South Mountain Christian Camp operates 6 one-week camps during the summer for children ages 7-15. Most of these kids come from economically disadvantaged homes. SMCC is located on 260 wooded acres in the beautiful foothills of Bostic, NC Facilities include swimming pool, ropes course, gym, climbing wall, lakes, gaga ball pits, sand volleyball court, hiking trails, ball-fields, full service cafeteria, and air-conditioned cabins!! We are located halfway between Charlotte and Asheville, NC.
Cabin Leaders take care of up to 8 kids each week from Sunday afternoon through Friday evening for 6 weeks in the summer; leading activities, devotionals and fun. The Cabin leader position is a ministry opportunity. Cabin Leaders build relationships with their campers and provide spiritual guidance for them. They lead cabin devotionals each morning and are available after chapel each night to pray with campers.
Employment requires a commitment of 7 weeks (June/July). Housing, meals, and a base salary ($160/week plus room and board) are provided. All Cabin Directors get at least 1-½ days off each week. A Cabin Leader should be a Christian, of good character, at least 18 years of age, and physically active. Cabin Leaders must have a desire to reach young people for Christ.
