Program Evaluator
The Program Evaluator functions independently with limited supervision, initiating projects on their own and has the ability to pull and interpret data summaries and reports to tell the story of why the data is important and makes recommendations based on data. The Evaluator works on multiple projects in collaboration with GLITEC staff. To be successful in the position, the person should possess excellent oral and written communication skills; consistently exhibit professional behavior and a high degree of integrity and impartiality appropriate to the confidential nature of the position; and the ability to give presentations to various groups on significant findings is required. Another critical skill is collaborating and working effectively with a team of various partners. Evaluations may be related to program management, surveillance and epidemiology, health promotion, policy, and communication.
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing evaluation strategies.
  • Contributing to multi-year evaluation plans.
  • Investigating program effectiveness.
  • Developing evaluation reports.
  • Advising program managers of mid-course adjustments that may need to be made based on surveillance and evaluation data.
  • Preparing grant applications.
  • Reporting progress to the CDC on performance measures.
  • Working with key stakeholders to develop comprehensive program evaluation plans.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in identifying potential data sources and collecting data on process and outcome performance measures related to chronic disease interventions in community settings.
  • Accesses existing data sources, analyzes data and works with team and partners to draw conclusions.
  • Organizes and conducts innovative data collection methods including surveys, studies, key informant interviews, focus groups, etc.
  • Collects data and reviews research materials, conducts literature reviews on evaluation methods and the effectiveness of various programs, and other topics needed to summarize and present findings.
  • Facilitates the use of research data to improve existing programs and utilization of resources.
  • Develops program logic models outlining short, medium, and long-term program outcomes and activities to achieve outcomes.
·        Serves on various boards, councils, committees, or task forces to coordinate agency activities and facilitate agency goals and initiatives.
 
This is a fulltime exempt position working Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. The worksite is located in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. This is not a remote position. This position, based on skills and experience, has a salary range of $60,000 - $65,000 annually with benefits including Annual Leave, Personal Leave and Holiday Pay; Health, Dental, Life & AD&D, STD and LTD Insurance, FSA and 401(k) Retirement Plan. Qualifications: 
Required: Master’s degree in Public Health, Program Evaluation, or related field Knowledge and experience with public health evaluation criteria, and techniques. Experience collecting gathering, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data; comprehensive knowledge of research methods; skill and ability to speak before a group of people, deliver presentations or training; dedication to collaboration with other staff members and professionals; demonstrated oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical manner; skills and experience in composing and producing technical or scientific reports, publications, and related material; ability to use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
