Director - Early Childhood Site

 
Information specific to this position: This position will start 1/4/23 and will run through the 23/24 school year.
 
Pay Range: $79,918 - $110,288 based on qualifications and experience*
 
Percentage: 100%
 
Work calendar days: 208 days
 
Duration of position: One year only

SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Early Childhood Director/Assistant Director and Principal with instructional and organizational leadership, direction, supervision, operations, and accountability for the attainment of Early Childhood program goals. Duties include evaluating, appraising, mentoring, and monitoring licensed and classified staff in the Early Childhood site program; supervising, monitoring, and encouraging appropriate student behavior and individual student success; and obtaining and maintaining childcare licensing, inspections, and follow-up

Description of Job Tasks

1. Assist and support the implementation of early childhood curriculum and instruction for the purpose of increasing student achievement. 2. Supervise, assess, and monitor student performance using objective and verifiable information, including standardized, criterion-referenced district and teacher developed assessments. 3. Evaluate and supervise school personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth, and achieving overall objectives of the early childhood curriculum. 4. Work collaboratively with the principal to establish guidelines and expectations for appropriate student behavior with the goal of maintaining an academic environment conducive to student achievement including, but not limited to supervision during lunch, in the hallways, and during co-curricular activities at night and after school. 5. Facilitate communication (oral and written) between personnel, students and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems, and/or resolving conflicts. 6. Participate in social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities. 7. Develop and implement staff development opportunities including organizing and facilitating grade level, team, and/or building based discussions, trainings, or meetings. 8. Collaborate with building principal and Early Childhood Director/Assistant Director with the hiring of new teachers and building staff. 9. Manage applications for childcare licensure, maintain a schedule for inspections for licensure and health department, and turn in follow-up on schedules outlined by licensing reports, working with the Early Childhood Operations Manager. 10. Act as a point of contact for facilities/construction to insure alignment with licensing guidelines. 11. Attend work and arrive in a timely manner. 12. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: • Master’s degree in Education and/or Family Development and Human Studies or a related area, with successful completion of principal licensure program • Three years of teaching/administration leadership experience with early childhood preferred

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS: • Criminal background check required for hire • Valid Colorado Principal License • Level four (Director) Colorado Shines PDIS certification • Valid Colorado driver’s license
