Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary


We are seeking an individual who is interested in growing within our organization. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of five years of experience as an HR Generalist, is proactive, positive, and flexible with a can-do attitude. The candidate must also have the ability to work effectively with a team and individually. The position is involved with all aspects of Human Resources at 100+ person organization. This includes hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave and enforcing company policies and practices.


Key Responsibilities:                

 

·        Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
·        Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
·        Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
·        Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
·        Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
·        Work closely with leaders to understand their specific human resource related needs and work with them to develop and implement solutions to best support their goals and remain in alignment with the expectations of the overall organization.
·        Create an environment that encourages open communication, sharing ideas and best practices and building strong cross-functional relationships.
·        Develop, implement, and maintain human resource policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of department and services performed.
·        Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
·        Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
·        Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
·        Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:


·        Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
·        5+ years responsible role in human resources.
·        SHRM-CP a plus.

Physical Requirement:


·        Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
·        Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 
·        Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
