Attollo Fellowship Initiative
The Attollo Fellowship Initiative (AFI) is a two-year experience for a cohort of high-performing recent college graduates to work closely with a diverse group of high school juniors and seniors, many of whom are students of color, 1st generation and low-income students. The goal of this fellowship is to build a team of five strong-minded fellows that will facilitate and manage the programming, logistics, and execution of Attollo’s vision which is to support success-oriented students from diverse backgrounds in their pursuit of academic achievement, empowerment, and social engagement. Attollo Prep operates out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a community praised for its rich cultural diversity and booming local food and arts scene.
Job Description:
Attollo fellows prepare for their own postgraduate studies and gain social impact experience by working directly with Attollo students and colleagues to facilitate:
- Scholar recruitment program (6-week onboarding and leadership development program for high school juniors)
- SAT prep (for juniors and seniors)
- The college application process
- College success workshops
- Attollo ACEs Retreat (weekend-long retreat focused on college prep and career readiness)
- National college tours
- Other programs or workshops related to fellow’s expertise and experience
- List programs
- Supporting annual fundraising efforts
Year #1: Fellows facilitate the Attollo onboarding program, becoming familiar with the program curriculum and meeting a group of around 30 juniors they will support during their fellowship.
Fellows will assist these scholars with all things college-related, including but not limited to SAT prep, computer programming, design thinking through entrepreneurship, national college tours, resume building, and personal statements.
Year #2: Fellows continue to facilitate Attollo onboarding program while also coaching their scholars through their senior year of high school, assisting with the actual college application, financial aid, and decision-making process. Fellows also formulate and execute their personal graduate school prerequisites (MCAT, GMAT, LSAT, GRE, etc). During this year, fellows may also formulate and develop a program based on their unique interests and expertise relevant to college or career exploration.
Qualifications:
- High-performing recent college graduates from an accredited 4-year institution
- Passionate about helping young students achieve their goals
- Passionate about educational equity
- Exceptional writing and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Collaborate effectively across a diverse spectrum of stakeholders, including staff, alumni, students, and community members, and possess impeccable listening and facilitation skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Range of academic backgrounds in order to facilitate collaboration across multiple disciplines
- Drive and creativity to generate innovative ways to achieve the vision
Hours:
- 45- 55 hours per week (hours subject to change in accordance with Attollo programs and alumni projects) + Occasional weekends required
Pay/Benefits:
- Salary: $42,000+
