The City of Portland is seeking qualified Park Ranger Supervisors to join our team!
 
We have two positions one (1) is regular and one (1) limited duration.

About this position:
·        Portland Parks and Recreation Park Rangers engage visitors to ensure a positive experience in parks, deter nuisance activity that affects our park resources and visitor experience, resolve city code violations, and proactively support park safety at park programming and events. Ranger Supervisors support the work of rangers via training, community outreach, data collection, and deployment management. This supervisory position is responsible for a team of Park Rangers that includes both full-time permanent and seasonal staff. The supervisor must be able to work under limited direction and make daily decisions related to security, safety, and service-related program issues in Portland Parks. The supervisor must be a skilled problem solver with a background in conflict management, public safety, and community outreach. The position may include evening and weekend work.
·        An ideal candidate is someone who cares about parks, nature, and people; has a background in parks and public safety, and is inclusive and culturally competent. The supervisor provides leadership to multiple staff, community groups, and PP&R stakeholders, as such must be able to lead by example, be accountable, transparent, compassionate, and service-oriented.
