Spring 2023 Intern - Communications, Multimedia

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is offering a Spring Internship to a qualified candidate who will support the Communications, Multimedia team. This paid internship is a part-time, temporary employment opportunity averaging 20 - 30 hours per week for a undergraduate student. PCORI does not provide housing for out of town residents. All applicants must be eligible to work in the US and located in the US. Pay Range and Employment Status:
Interns shall be classified as temporary employees who are hired as interim replacements, to temporarily supplement the workforce, or to assist in the completion of a specific project and who are temporarily scheduled to work for a limited duration. Employment beyond any initially stated period does not in any way imply a change in employment status. Temporary workers are not eligible for PCORI benefits. 
Bachelor's level students will be paid $16.10 per hour.
Current master's level and above students will be paid $20.00 per hour. 
 
The Communications department is seeking an intern who will have the opportunity to:
Update their portfolio with published content and a recommendation letter from the Multimedia Manager.  
Gain exposure to the production process at a large non-profit, which involves optimizing video content for web, creating project plans for video content, and working as a member of a fully staffed and talented Communications Team. 
Gain experience taking an approved idea from concept to final product.  
Build skills covering all aspects of video production, including writing interview questions/scripts, storyboarding, recording, keying, professional lighting, editing, organizing video content on YouTube, Vimeo, and the PCORI.org website. 
Assist the PCORI Multimedia team as they streamline their processes by tagging existing video content, updating content on YouTube/Vimeo, identifying content from past events and interviews that align with organization priorities to feature throughout 2023, and collaborating with the team to identify potential gaps in video library through research. 
Lead a multimedia project that results in 1) a recruitment video for the organization, 2) a recruitment video for the Fall 2023 intern class. These projects will allow the Spring intern to work with PCORI’s multimedia team to:  
  • Draft a brief/project plan outlining the objective, key dates, interviewees, interview questions, resources, and assets for each video. 
  • Schedule and record video interviews with various staff members and interns. 
  • Edit, produce, and put content through review and approval process. 
  • Publish content to YouTube, Vimeo, and PCORI.org website 
  • Work with Senior Multimedia Specialist on a promotion plan for each video to be featured on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook

Required Skills

The Communications team is seeking an intern that will meet the following requirements:
  • Video production process (scriptwriting, editing, production)
  • Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects Software for video editing/production
  • YouTube and Vimeo platforms

Required Experience

Ideal candidates will be pursuing their undergraduate in one of the following areas: Communications, Digital Media, Multimedia Production, or related field.

Applications for the PCORI Spring Internship Program will be accepted up to 12:00pm EST on Monday, Dec. 1. Applicants who are chosen will be phone screened by PCORI People Strategy and Services. Virtual interviews with relevant intern supervisors and teams will take place from Dec. 12 - 20.
