Fundraising and Development Intern

The Ipswich River Watershed Association (IRWA) seeks is seeking a motivated individual for a Winter 2023 part-time internship to join the Development Team. The Fundraising and Development Intern will assist in IRWA’s efforts to cleanup, customize, and fully utilize our Bloomerang constituent database. This effort will help our organization better collect, classify, and understand our various constituencies, ensuring that our outreach efforts are targeted and effective. The intern will have the opportunity to learn an application of a CRM system within a nonprofit organization, and become familiar with the Bloomerang product in particular, which will assist them throughout their career.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Update constituent information on the Boomerang database. 
  • Aid in targeted outreach efforts tailored to specific constituencies. 
  • Aid the development team in executing fundraising strategies in support of IRWA’s mission to save the Ipswich River.

Skills and Experience
This position requires a person with a strong interest in fundraising and development work. The ideal candidate will have a mix of relevant education and experience, and most importantly be passionate about IRWA’s mission to protect nature and ensure there is enough clean, safe water for people, fish, and wildlife.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Hours, Schedule, and Compensation
This is a part-time (~20 hours per week) internship lasting from January 2023 to May 2023. Specific hours to be worked can be flexible to accommodate student class schedules. Pay is $18 per hour worked. Preference will be given to applicants able to work some hours in-person at IRWA’s headquarters in Ipswich, MA. Preference will be given to those students who qualify for the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (Mass CEC) internship funding. We encourage all interested applicants to confirm their eligibility with this program which is open to all students living in Massachusetts or who attend Massachusetts schools.
