As our Strategic Projects Manager, you will develop our implementation plan for delivering ranked-choice voting for the 2024 election and support the Independent District Commission’s work to establish districts for the election of our City Council. Working closely with community engagement staff, you will develop and deliver a voter education strategy to help Portlanders learn about our new election methods.
 
This position is a member of the Strategic Projects and Opportunities Team, which is charged with implementing Ballot Measure 26-228. Team members collaborate with City Council and their staff, bureau directors, managers, and staff throughout the City, and outside stakeholders on projects, programs and policies. Our projects generally impact large portions of City operations, staff or service delivery. The work is often highly politically sensitive, requiring significant independent judgment and discretion. Our Strategic Project Managers are committed to advancing the City core values of anti-racism, equity, transparency, collaboration, communication and fiscal responsibility.
The Strategic Projects Manager manages complex multi-bureau and citywide projects and participates in developing policies and negotiating agreements. This position also gathers and analyzes complex data and information from a variety of sources, participates in performance management and program evaluation, and makes recommendations for process and policy improvements.
