A vacancy exists for an Elementary Music Teacher in the Norristown Area School District located at Marshall Street Elementary School.
Qualifications:
- PA Certification in Music required
- Experience with elementary students preferred
- Current Child Abuse, criminal history, and FBI clearances required
Duties & Job Responsibilities:
- Designs and implements appropriate music instruction in accordance with the District music curriculum, along with national and state music standards encouraging student participation, fostering a lifelong love of music (Danielson Domain 1&3)
- Utilizes appropriate instructional strategies to effectively address unique student learners and individual student learning differences (Danielson Domain 1)
- Serves as an advocate for students, planning lessons that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students (Danielson Domain 1)
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning with clear expectations and a positive culture of learning (Danielson Domain 2)
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive, and safe classroom environment consistent with District instructional goals (Danielson Domain 2)
- Conducts appropriate assessments of students' work, maintaining accurate data and records (Danielson Domain 3&4)
- Collaborates with staff members, planning instructional goals, objectives, curriculum, and promoting the integration of music throughout the school (Danielson Domain 1)
- Communicates regularly with parents/guardians and students interacting in a positive and professional manner (Danielson Domain 4)
- Models high levels of musicianship to students and the community through performance and participation with students and staff (Danielson Domain 4)
- Provides opportunities for student musical performances throughout the community (Danielson Domain 4)
- Participates in professional development opportunities to enhance professional practice (Danielson Domain 4)
Schedule:
Monday- Friday
7.5 hrs/day
189 days/year
2022-2023 salary schedule, prorated accordingly:
Bachelor's - $50,513 - $53,505 (Step 3)
Bachelor's + 24 - $53,573 to $57,148(Step 3)
Master's - $56,551 to $60,708(Step 3)
Master's + 15 - $58,953 to $63,317(Step 3)
Master's + 30 - $61,354 to $65,928(Step 3)
Master's + 45 - $61,812 to $66,395 (Step 3)
Doctorate/Master's + 60 - $62,267 to $66,862 (Step 3)
