Fine Arts Teacher
 
The position of a Fine Arts Teacher will be available immediately at East Central ISD for the 2022-2023 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The deadline for submitting an application is 4:00 pm., December 10, 2022, or until the position is filled.  

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth, enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Provide classroom instruction in the basic concept of fine art to include music/art/theater arts based on TEKS in those areas.
  2. Allow students to develop and organize ideas from the environment related to fine arts.
  3. Instruct students to express ideas through original artworks, using a variety of media with appropriate skills.
  4. Instruct students to demonstrate an understanding of art history and culture as records of human achievement.
  5. Instruct students to make informed judgments about personal artworks and the artworks of others in all media.
  6. Allow students to describe and analyze musical sounds and demonstrate musical artistry.
  7. Instructs students to perform a varied repertoire of music.
  8. Instruct students to read and write music notation.
  9. Instruct students to create and arrange music within specified guidelines.
  10. Instruct students to relate music to history, society, and culture.
  11. Instruct students to respond to and evaluate music and musical performance.
  12. Create lessons that both teach and involve the student.
  13. Prepare students for annual music/theater performances/art exhibits.
  14. Maintain current information on professional organizational development and workshops.
  15. Maintain a Fine Arts budget. 
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree 
Appropriate Texas Teacher’s Certificate – Generalist or Core Subjects (EC-6)  

EQUIPMENT USED: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment 

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds; may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment. May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint, and assist non-ambulatory students. Classroom environment with moderate to high noise level. Exposure to biological hazards.  

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 2022-2023 School Year
SALARY: Based on 2022-2023 Classroom Teacher Salary Scale
