The Requirements are as follows:
ANTICIPATED ELIGIBILITY
Candidates who meet all eligibility requirements within six (6) months of the application deadline (June 16, 2023) will be admitted to this examination. Successful candidates will be placed on the eligible list but may not be hired or promoted until all requirements have been satisfied.
Option 1
1. EDUCATION
Completion of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university with major coursework in Medical Technology and/or Medical Laboratory Science.
OR
Option 2
Current certification in one of the following:
Medical Technologist by American Medical Technologists (AMT), or by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as:
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or
- Chemistry ©, or
- Hematology (H), or
- Microbiology (M) or
- by the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA),
or in a closely related area by Health Education and Welfare (HEW) or equivalent national certifying agency.
