The Requirements are as follows:
ANTICIPATED ELIGIBILITY
Candidates who meet all eligibility requirements within 6 months of the application deadline (June 9, 2023) will be admitted to this examination. Successful candidates will be placed on the eligible list but may not be hired or promoted until all requirements have been satisfied.
1. EDUCATION:
Completion of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university with major course work in geographic information systems, geography, spatial analytics, urban planning, computer science, management information systems, engineering, landscape architecture which has included coursework in GIS, or a related field.
AND
2. SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:
One year of trainee level experience designing, maintaining, and producing geo spatial data and map production utilizing ArcGIS suite of products or similar GIS software.
NOTE: This note does not apply to career advancement or in-position promotion. Completion of a post baccalaureate certification program in Geographic Information Systems at an accredited college or university or completion of a master’s degree program at an accredited college or university with major coursework in geography, urban planning, geographic information systems, computer science, management information systems, engineering, spatial analytics, landscape architecture which has included coursework in GIS, or a related field can equate for the experience requirement.
