F220242 - Assistant Teaching Professor - Psychology

Position Summary:
The Department of Psychology at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, is inviting applications for two Assistant Teaching Professors (official state title: Clinical Assistant Professor) to serve the department’s instructional needs.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Develop and teach PSY 199 (UB Seminar). Faculty teaching these small seminar courses for entering undergraduates are expected to serve as a resource to those who are new to navigating a university setting and to play a role in student success and retention.
• Ensure courses conform to all University course requirements and content is updated to provide students with the best possible educational experience.
• Course load will be 8 courses across the academic year (or equivalent).
Although this is an instructional position, teaching faculty may participate in the active research environment of the department through attendance in department colloquia, affiliation with one or more areas, and mentoring undergraduate research projects.
This is a non-tenure-track position with an academic year (10-month) obligation. Initial appointment will be for a three-year term with opportunity for renewal based on performance, College need, and available funding.

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in hand by time of appointment. Experience teaching undergraduate psychology courses.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience mentoring undergraduate students and departmental service.

Special Instructions Summary:
