Recent books include Neil Price’s Children of Ash and Elm, Brad DeLong’s Slouching Towards Utopia, Peniel Joseph’s The Sword and the Shield, Stephon Alexander’s The Jazz of Physics, David Spiegelhalter’s The Art of Statistics, Jonathan Metzl’s Dying of Whiteness, Beverly Daniel Tatum’s Why Are All The Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?, Erika Lee’s America for Americans, and Judea Pearl and Dana Mackenzie’s The Book of Why. Seal Press was founded in 1976 and stands as one of the most enduring feminist publishing houses to emerge from the women’s press movement of the 1970s. Seal publishes radical and groundbreaking books that inspire and challenge readers, that humanize urgent issues, that build much-needed bridges in divisive times, and help us see the world in a new light. Highlights of Seal’s list include Ijeoma Oluo’s Mediocre, Minda Harts’s The Memo, Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez’s For Brown Girls with Sharp Edges and Tender Hearts, Susan Stryker’s Transgender History, and Julia Serrano’s Whipping Girl.
