Position:                     Philanthropy Intern, Mid-Atlantic Region
Location:           Nationwide/Remote 
FLSA Status:        Non-Exempt
Salary:             $15/hour
 
Position Description:
UNICEF USA seeks a Philanthropy Intern for its Washington, DC office. The intern will work in collaboration with the Deputy Director and Philanthropy Regional Team to help engage high net worth individuals with UNICEF global work in order to achieve fundraising goals. We are currently seeking paid interns for our cohort that will commence in the spring. This internship would provide an opportunity to learn about:
• donor cultivation and research
• implementing fundraising strategies
• event planning and execution
• UNICEF programs and the field of international development
 
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate communications to support outreach to major donors, newleads, and partners
• Conduct research projects on regional donor and foundation prospects
• Participate in event planning, execution, and follow-up to major donors
• Assist in tracking, analyzing, and reporting on data
• Help brainstorm and execute ideas to engage leadership annual giving donors
• Perform other assignments as needed
 
Requirements:  
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail  
  • Strong written and oral communication skills  
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and social media platforms a plus4  
  • Must demonstrate USF Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork, and Service  
 

Qualifications:  
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program  
  • Experience in non-profit or fundraising is preferred    
  • Must have f luency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and be able to learn new systems quickly  
  • Interest in project management, event planning, fundraising or related field preferred  
  • Must be able to demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced work environment  
  • The successful candidate must also have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of children's rights and international issues, as well as a commitment to public service  
  • Innovation, creativity, and a team player mentality are necessary for success in this role  
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written  
  • Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA    
  • Must demonstrate UNICEF USA Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork and Service  
 
Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
