Position:                     Corporate Partnerships Intern 
Location:           Nationwide/Remote 
FLSA Status:        Non-Exempt
Salary:             $15/hour
 
Position Description:
UNICEF USA seeks a Corporate Partnerships intern for its Houston office. The intern work in collaboration with UNICEF USA Community Engagement Associate and Regional Managing Director in the Houston office to help engage local supporters, volunteers, and partners in UNICEF USA's grassroots engagement efforts. We are currently seeking unpaid interns for our cohort that will commence in May.
This internship would provide an opportunity to learn about:
  • managing event planning and execution
  • maintaining social media and communication outreach
  • UNICEF programs and community engagement
 
Key Responsibilities/Projects:
  • Support Regional Managing Director with day-to-day engagement activities through the Houston UNICEF UNITE team —UNICEF USA's grassroots organizing structure
  • Work on retention of volunteers for UNICEF UNITE Houston region
  • Support local volunteer activations and key organizational initiatives including, but not limited to UNICEF Kid Power and other initiatives
  • Assist in managing regional social media pages and communication plans for engaging with volunteers and local community partners
  • Help with school presentation on UNICEF 101 to inspire children and teachers in school settings to support UNICEF USA campaigns
  • Assist in tracking volunteer and community engagement activities
 
Qualifications:
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program
  • Interest in program management, event planning, nonprofit management or related field preferred
  • Must have experience with community organizing, volunteer management, and a passion for inspiring others (extracurricular activities, leaders of clubs etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of the community for which the candidate is applying a plus
  • The successful candidate must also have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of children's rights and international issues, as well as a commitment to public service
  • The ideal candidate will be a resourceful and energetic with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously with attention to detail
  • Innovation, creativity, and a team player mentality are necessary for success in this role
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effective presentations and workshops and ease in public speaking for groups large and small
  • Experience working with students or in educational programming is a plus
  • Proven ability to work well with a diverse group of people in a team setting; additional language(s) a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written; experience working with cross-country teams a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekend and evening commitments
  • Must have reliable access to transportation
  • Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred
  • Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA
  • Must demonstrate UNICEF USA Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork and Service
 
Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
