Technical Internship: Machine Learning
As an intern at Synopsys, you will gain hands-on experience while working alongside industry professionals. You will develop and refine skills relevant to your major and future career by contributing to high-impact business projects. The Synopsys intern program integrates our interns into the culture with career opportunities upon graduation. This summer internship is full-time (40 hours/week) beginning May/June 2023 and will last three months.
Responsibilities:
As an intern in this position, you will research background and build prototype for AI based root-cause research system. You will generate procedural rules for debugging and root-causing problems in the EDA tool and CAD flow for use in a compile-able procedural surrogate system. By the end of the internship, you will be expected to:
- Generate a white-paper summarizing background research in the (sub)-field related to the given sub-problem
- Create a production quality POC with systematic experimental results for the given sub-problem
- Give a talk to the team on the work done at the end of the internship.
Requirements:
- Industry or academic research experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Proven experience and skills with a modern programming language (python/C++)
- Experience or Knowledge of modern computer architecture, hardware systems, and deployment of distributed applications including underlying technologies.
- Research/Development experience in one or more of the following:
- Combinatorial optimization problems (e.g., scheduling, vehicle routing, image research, language processing).
- Continuous and discrete optimization problems (e.g., linear programming, convex programming, non-convex programming).
- Predictive analytics (e.g., forecasting, time-series, neural networks)
- Prescriptive analytics (e.g., stochastic optimization, bandits, reinforcement learning)
- Experience and/or Knowledge of workflows and deployments in cloud compute environments.
