About American Beatbox:
American Beatbox™ is a NYC-based organization made up of world champion beatboxers, Broadway trail blazers, and music industry professionals dedicated to serving the growing global community of beatboxers and beatbox fans. At American Beatbox, our mission is to preserve and share the history of beatboxing as an original American artform, sustain the beatboxing community with resources and events, and spread the craft and lessons of beatboxing to future generations. We believe beatboxing can change the world and we’re looking for people who are passionate about music’s power to make a difference.
At American Beatbox, we create and host high quality digital content, produce live events, have original and collaborative merchandise for sale, provide links to event tickets and educational resources, as well as post general information on the beatboxing scene. Based in Midtown Manhattan, we have office space available for intern use but are very flexible with folks working remote. As we grow, we aim to connect the North, Central and South American beatbox communities and help facilitate growth and increased exposure for all. Internships with American Beatbox are eligible for credit.

Events:
Since 2010, the annual American Beatbox Championships has been the largest beatbox battle in North America. Held annually in New York City, the ABC’s are a mix of community networking, workshops, performances, and the highly anticipated elimination tournament which crowns the best in the USA across three categories - Solo, 2v2, and Loop. The winners of this battle go on to represent the US internationally at the Beatbox Battle World Championships.
The 2022 American Beatbox Championships are going to be the biggest and best yet - a 4 day festival September 2-5th that’s taking over the Showboat in Atlantic City. Your Internship with American Beatbox will culminate with helping us with the event.

Social Media Manager Internship Responsibilities:
- Work with our media team to develop and execute social media strategy, including growing engagement, highlighting our community, promoting upcoming events, and increasing merchandise sales.
- Sustain and develop relationships with sponsors, advertisers, and other brand partnership opportunities.
- Increase reach and visibility of our audience.
- Communicate with our community members to support their events and products.
- Share your ideas! We’re interested in hearing what you are passionate about and how your unique perspective and experience can help our mission.
Social Media Manager Internship Preferred Qualifications:
Organized, clear communicator, advanced experience with Instagram, Youtube, Tik Tok and Facebook management. Must be able to communicate and work with other members of our team to execute campaigns. Must have an understanding of how to use Google Drive, Google Documents, and Google spreadsheets. Must be able to manage calendar / timeline, create spreadsheets, and provide regular updates. We are looking for someone who will take the initiative on projects, will ask questions, and is passionate about spreading music enrichment, positive mindset
