F220267 - Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure track) - Finance

Position Summary:
The School of Management at the University at Buffalo (State University of New York, SUNY at Buffalo), invites nominations and applications for full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor faculty positions (rank open) to start in Fall 2023. The positions seek candidates in the field of financial research.
Applicants for this appointment must hold a doctoral degree, or will be defending their doctoral dissertation by June 1, 2023, in the field of finance or closely related field. The successful candidate must demonstrate the motivation and capacity to excel in both research and teaching. Qualifications will include a demonstrable interest in, and capacity to conduct research publishable in top academic outlets, as well as an ability and motivation to provide excellent instruction in the field of finance at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. This teaching may involve both digital access and traditional classroom delivery to students with a broad range of academic backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A doctoral degree (PhD) or will be defending their doctoral dissertation by June 1, 2023, in Finance or closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated performance in delivering effective teaching to both undergraduate and graduate students
  • Applicants should have strong interest and capability to undertake scholarly research publishable in leading journals.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of successful experience in a tenure-track research appointment at a business school in a major research university.
  • Candidates’ exceptional disciplinary training should be combined with a strong interest in the professional mission of the School of Management.
  • Preferred areas of special interest include the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Democracy and Society, or Sustainability.
