Role Overview: The Behavior Specialist’s primary focus is child centered; to deliver services that meet the children’s individual and group treatment needs. The t Specialist works with several departments and program areas in order to assist children who exhibit academic, social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges. This role is a crucial part of the Green Chimneys community, offering their expertise in the realm of crisis intervention with an emphasis on prevention. 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: responding to behavioral crisis situations, utilizing proper Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques, intervening directly when corrective action is necessary, counseling children in crisis and/or to avoid crisis, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children attending the program, providing individual and group counseling as necessary, providing direct supervision of children as necessary, assisting as necessary in implementing student ICSP and/or other behavioral plans, participating in agency programs/initiatives, notifying agency personnel regarding all emergencies, documenting children’s behavior and reporting any incidents, and other duties as assigned. 

What you bring to Green Chimneys:
Behavior Specialist I: Bachelor's Degree required OR candidate with a HS Diploma and a minimum of 4 years' related work experience at an hourly rate of $22.68.

Behavior Specialist II: Master's Degree required OR candidate with lesser degree and a minimum of 4 years' related work experience or a HS Diploma with a minimum of 7 years' related work experience at an hourly rate of $24.28.
