Student Trainee (Business Administration)

NSWC Dahlgren Division is collecting resumes for student (post-secondary) positions in Business Administrative, Program Management.
Selections for the General Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services Group will be made starting at NG-0344-01, equivalent to a GS-02/03/04 as a Management Clerk/Assistant or Program Clerk/Assistant. Upon completion of degree, you may be eligible for conversion to NT-343-02, equivalent to a GS-05/07/08 (Bachelor’s) or NT-343-03, equivalent to a GS-09/10 (Master’s) as a Management Analyst or Program Analyst with full-performance target NT-04, equivalent to GS-11/12. Generally, majors in business administration or finance are acceptable. Additional courses in communication, accounting, human resources, and management are a plus. Additional experience may impact entry grade.
 
For students that have completed a bachelor’s degree and have acceptance to or currently are pursuing a Master’s degree entry grade will be based on having a bachelor’s degree.
 
To be considered you must have completed one year of post-secondary education, be enrolled as a full-time student, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0. The number of credit hours completed and experience will be evaluated in determining an entry grade and salary. Upon completion of degree you may be eligible for conversion to a full-time position.
Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Dahlgren, Virginia is one of the ten Divisions of the Naval Surface Warfare Center. It is the Navy’s principal research, development, and test & evaluation laboratory for surface ship combat systems. It performs warfare analysis, research, design, development, systems integration, strategic missile systems support, special and amphibious warfare and fleet engineering services. NSWCDD is looking for individuals that have an interest in learning business operations and financial management of Navy programs. Candidates should be eager to learn, and have the ability to apply various business concepts to program operations to avoid negative impacts. Organization and communication are key as the candidate will be communicating with leadership, project leads and contracting officers on several different financial aspects of a program.
