Merrimack Valley Neighborhood Outreach Internship (Bilingual)
Do you want to advance racial and economic justice while tackling climate change? Join an innovative young nonprofit organization, All In Energy, working to expand access to climate solutions and green jobs across the Commonwealth. Our mission is to accelerate an inclusive clean energy economy. We work hand-in-hand with cities and local community organizations to connect communities of color, non-English speakers, and renters/landlords to energy-saving programs and affordable renewable energy. These programs help families save money, make their homes healthier, and combat climate change. We are also increasing green career opportunities for people of color, multilingual individuals, and women.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate bilingual (Spanish/English) college student or recent graduate to engage residents in Andover, Haverhill, Lawrence, Methuen, North Andover. We are partnered with these municipalities and local organizations to connect residents to no-cost home energy assessments and beneficial solar access programs. We have a special focus on Environmental Justice Communities, or EJCs, that have disproportionately not participated in these programs previously.
The Neighborhood Outreach Representative’s role focuses on reaching residents in the community by knocking on doors and attending events to share opportunities to save money and energy at home with residents and help them access these programs. - Capture learnings and best practices to help All In Energy improve its field operations
- Solicit feedback from residents and ask for referrals of family, friends, and neighbors
- Track feedback from community members and community institutions about potential barriers to adopting energy efficiency measures to shape future program implementation
- Utilize a canvassing map application and online forms for capturing residents’ information on tablet or phone while in field
- Maintain organized contact records, and other data about partnerships and community members, as well as program successes and challenges
- Miscellaneous tasks associated with implementing the nonprofit organization’s mission, as needed.
