The Curatorial Office offers the opportunity for students to learn about all aspects of curatorial work. This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in many phases of exhibition development, improve and expand upon research skills, learn curatorial record keeping, and write didactic texts. The curatorial interns will assist the Museum’s curators as they conduct research on the collection, organize future exhibitions, and select work for installation in the galleries. This year, interns will also work to research objects on view in the Museum’s historic properties and assist in developing revised curatorial commentary. The interns will work directly with the curators, performing tasks critical to the department’s advancement. An art history background, with particular strength in American art, is required as are excellent writing and research skills. This internship requires in-person work but can be hybrid. This internship includes a $3000 stipend for the summer.
