Intern, Automation Engineering

Summary:


This application is for a 12-week internship role from June - August 2023. Resume review begins in January 2023.

As the Automation Engineering intern, you will work closely with engineering department(s) to develop or enhance tools to be used in support of biopharmaceutical manufacturing at the Research Triangle Park (RTP) Bio facility. Potential projects include webpage development, automated report design/implementation, database querying tool development and graphical interface design. You will also assist Automation Engineers with various project activities. This is an excellent opportunity to apply coding and database knowledge to a real-world manufacturing setting.

Position Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • SQL programming and query building
  • Development of knowledge-share webpage
  • Automated report development
  • Graphical interface design
  • Design document creation/updates



Qualifications:

  • Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies
  • Basic programming/database skills – Python, C#, VBA, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, etc.
  • Basic networking skills
  • Solid problem-solving skills

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

Education
Bachelor’s Degree undergraduate program in technical field (engineering or computer science)
