Bilingual Case Manager- Keeping Kids in School

Our team offers a North Bay bilingual consultation group facilitated completely in Spanish. About 1/3 of our staff are bilingual (English/Spanish); come join our awesome bilingual community who enjoys team building events like Staff BBQs.

We are looking for a Bilingual Case Manager in the Keeping Kids in School (KKIS) program who will provide direct support to youth and families in Sonoma County that are experiencing barriers to school attendance and engagement. As a case manager, you will provide culturally competent and sensitive services including: targeted case management services, skill building support, and connection to school and community resources to youth and family referred through partnering school districts and Sonoma County Juvenile Probation Department. You will provide flexible case management services to children and families. Case managers also provide technical assistance to partnering schools to enhance attendance procedures and support positive school climate.

ABOUT KKIS
Keeping Kids in School (KKIS) is a strengths-based, family-centered program that increases students’ school engagement by addressing factors that lead to chronic absenteeism. KKIS provides individualized case management services to youth and families and contributes to system-level interventions that support school and community-wide improvements in student engagement. Keeping Kids in School is a collaboration between Seneca Family of Agencies, select school sites across Sonoma County and Sonoma County Juvenile Probation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify needs, barriers, and strengths to establish individualized goals and action plans with clients, caregivers, and school teams.
  • Facilitate monthly action plan review meetings with clients, families, school teams and other participating members.
  • Provide youth and family with linkage to school and community resources to meet their needs and establish sustainable solutions.
  • Integrate into assigned school communities by working with administration and school intervention teams, attending multidisciplinary meetings, and participating in other school events.
  • Develop and maintain healthy partnerships with a variety of mental health, school, and community providers.
  • Provide technical assistance in the form of school or district wide interventions, participating in school or district wide events, and advocate for creative problem solving to address underlying student/family barriers to success in school.
  • Implement and hold fidelity to Seneca’s Unconditional Care and Unconditional Education models.
  • Make efforts to understand the history of Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) in the United States and further Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Qualifications

REQUIRED
  • Experience/education requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree OR
  •  Associate’s degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable work experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable work experience
  • Applicable experience includes any paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families, or working in the social services field
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, required.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and insurability by Seneca's automobile insurance carrier.
  • Fulfillment of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state and federal.
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination and booster.
PREFERRED
  • Two or more years of direct work experience providing support, community, or school-based services to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Strong organizational skills as demonstrated by the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.

Schedule

  • Full-time.
  • Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.
  • Flexible schedule needed with ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays.

  • Starting at $24.00 per hour. Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
