GDIT is seeking an Audio / Visual (AV) Technician in Rockville, MD to join our team. In this role you will provide technical support and customer service to staff and/or visitors for conference rooms in NCI facilities located on the NIH campus, as well as the NCI Shady Grove Building.  Exceptional customer service, as well as written and verbal communication skills, are key in this customer facing role.  You will work with customers to understand what AV technologies are needed for various meetings at the NCI. Additionally, you will set up, troubleshoot, and support those needs for teleconferencing equipment, computers, cameras, microphones, etc.
You will be responsible for the use and operation, movement, and storage of all AV equipment, and providing customer support in the use and troubleshooting of all audio-visual equipment. 
Position is for full time employment and will be based at the client's office and lab locations in Rockville, MD (Shady Grove area).  You will work a 40-hour schedule on an 8:00 am - 5:00 pm shift.  You will sometimes need to provide coverage around the core hours of Mon-Fri 7:00 am -6:00 pm; and occasionally work nights and weekends for planned international meetings that require support during off hours.

Tasks and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Daily conference room checks: verify all equipment is online, functioning and charged
  • Daily meeting support: hands on technical support resource for customers for all conference room meeting needs, including video, audio, Webex, room computer connectivity, and lap connectivity
  • Support customer during meetings, including video teleconferencing, video display of laptops and/or room computer presentations, WebEx setup
  • Log all transactions with customers in ServiceNow
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues

To qualify, you must meet these basic qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience supporting telephony, video, network and/or other collaboration devices
  • Experience providing customer service and end user support
  • Hands on experience troubleshooting and resolving A/V issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

It would be great if you also had:

  • Minimum of four years’ experience with AV technologies
  • Associates or bachelor's degree
  • Strong desire to continue learning new technologies in the AV field
  • Experience using ticketing system (prefer ServiceNow)
  • Additional experience with Cisco Telepresence endpoints, WebEx, Cisco CMS and Cisco Jabber
