Research Technician II - Single Cell RNA Sequencing

The Research Technician II processes patient samples for clinical trials, maintains inventories, and performs single-cell RNA sequencing
Responsibilities
- Process clinical trial patient samples for immediate use and long-term storage
- Communicate with patient provider teams to coordinate sample acquisition at FHCC/UW medicine
- Pick up samples at FHCC and UW hospital (Montlake)
- Present updates in meetings
- Keep detailed logs of patient samples and protocol notes
- Single cell RNA sequencing
- Execute 10X Genomics protocols
- Understand Illumina sequencing
- Tumor bank:
- Coordinate with NWBiospecimen, surgeons, and affiliated labs to obtain tumor samples
- Maintain detailed inventory
- Process samples for long term storage
- Consent patients for tissue donation
- Isolate PBMCs from whole blood
This position will require schedule flexibility to work occasional weekends and early/late days
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biological disclipline or related field
- Two years' full-time relevant experience in a laboratory environment
- Interest or background in immunology
- Experience with some or all of the following:
- Primary human tissue handling
- Mammalian cell culture
- Sterile/aseptic technique
- Molecular biology
- NGS and Sanger sequencing
This position is patient facing and/or requires access to Fred Hutch clinical facilities. As such, full COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment, without exception. Booster doses are strongly recommended but not required. Research Technician II: The hourly pay range for this position is from $24.96 to $35.53 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
