TRIAL COURT STAFF ATTORNEY

Description of Work: This is professional and highly responsible work conducting legal research and writing activities at the circuit court level. The work involves considerable interpretation and judgment in the analysis of legal issues in the areas of assignment, which can include civil, criminal, family, juvenile dependency, juvenile delinquency, probate, guardianship, and administrative law. Contacts are primarily with judges and court personnel, but may include private attorneys and litigants.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Court Counsel. Assignments are made by the Court Counsel or the Senior Staff Attorney, either orally or in writing, and work is reviewed through observation of results obtained, conferences and periodic reports. 
 
Minimum Training and Experience Required: Graduation from an accredited law school. Membership in The Florida Bar is also required, although persons who are currently pursuing membership are eligible to apply and will be required to attain Bar membership within one year of appointment.
 
Location:      501 County Building, 501 1st Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701
                       (Effective February-March 2023, location will change to Pinellas County Justice Center, 14250 49th St. N., Clearwater, FL 33762)
 
Salary:          Florida Bar Member - $4,296.45 monthly plus State benefits, State Pay Grade 57
