Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a dedicated individual to fill the Title VI Compliance Specialist position with the Office of Equity and Civil Rights (OECR). The OECR is responsible for managing the agency's civil rights programs and the Title VI (Civil Rights Act of 1964) programs include Environmental Justice (EJ) and Limited English Proficiency (LEP). Under the administrative direction of the Environmental Justice and Community Engagement Manager, the incumbent will serve as the subject matter expert for the Public Transit Division Program statewide compliance with Title VI, LEP, and EJ. This position provides consultation to regional leaders concerning the engagement of Civil Rights programs to ensure that federally assisted and state funded contracts for highway, transit, and aviation projects can be authorized and maintained. The top candidate will conduct desk and on-site reviews which include investigation, research, analysis, and development of recommendations to cure or remedy non-compliance with programs. This position also serves as the statewide training lead for Local Agency Title VI, LEP, and EJ programs.
