The Position…
The Intern’s primary responsibility consists of providing K logix with an initial point of contact for; end-user data security-defined information security research as well as documentation and tracking of internal information security goals. The Intern must possess the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. This role has potential opportunities to shadow existing Info/Cyber Security Services team members to understand the security landscape better, learn how to analyze risk levels, and identify areas of exposure.
You, Will, Need To…
- Periodically review and update K logix’s security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct focused security market research and present results to K logix team members.
- Administer testing and evaluation of various technologies by applying K logix’s methodology, building LAB environments, working with live malware samples, and recording findings.
You Should Have…
- Strong attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- General knowledge of Info/Cyber Security.
- Knowledge of Windows, MAC operating systems, O365, VMware, and Security software.
You Will Gain Experience In…
- Emerging cyber threats, risks & countermeasures, including insider threat, behavioral analytics, KPIs/KRIs, IoT, risk-based adaptive authentication, AI, UEBA, supply chain compromise, etc.
- Cyber security technologies and services: SIEM, MSSP, CASB, AV/EDR, MFA, IAM/idAM, risk assessments, threat mapping, application penetration testing, red/blue/purple team exercises, etc.
- Cyber security frameworks and security protocols: MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, ISO 27001/2/18, CIS Top 20 Controls, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-30, etc.
Education…
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Information Technology, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems, and Computer Science (required).
- Information Technology and/or Information Security certifications (a plus)
