BCA Spring Internship

Located in the historic South End, Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) is committed to incubating and showcasing the performing and visual arts of our time. Internships at BCA allow you the opportunity to gain insight into the wide spectrum of business operations of a non-profit arts organization, work with different departments on a variety of projects, develop skills essential for your future employment and connect with local artists and arts professionals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interns at BCA generally work between 8 and 20 hours per week between Monday and Friday and during regular business hours (9am – 5pm). There may be times when interns are asked to work evenings or weekends for special events, though these are rare and will be discussed with the intern well in advance of the event. During the internship, the intern focuses on a specific area (General Administration, Fundraising & Event Planning, Marketing & Communications, Artistic — Visual Arts, Artistic — Exhibitions, Artistic — Dance, or Artistic — Theatre & Music) while having the opportunity to experience various departments and projects. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Promptly accomplish projects assigned by BCA staff, communicate challenges and questions, and report progress regularly;
  • Work both individually and collaboratively in conjunction with staff from all BCA departments;
  • Assist with special events as required;
  • Attend meetings as required;
  • Act as a BCA ambassador and resource to the public;
