Data Scientist Internship (Summer 2023)

Information Security is a strategic imperative for LYVE Cloud to ensure the security, privacy, availability, integrity, and confidentiality of customer, business partner, employee, and business information.
We are an agile fast-paced LYVE Cloud Engineering team, responsible for building, operating, and managing Seagate’s cloud infrastructure, API, and fully automated CI/CD pipeline. A blend of skillsets and diverse background make this a cross-functional team that delivers the technology that serves millions of daily active users.

About the role - you will:

 
•   Report to the Director of Risk and Compliance, the Data Scientist I Intern will be a key member of our Information Security team. 
•   Design and development of end-to-end automated process and GUI reporting
•   Define, create, and continuously improve the data analytics processes
•   Provide feedback on key usage scenarios, functional and technical designs, and specifications
•   Interact with users, Cloud Information Security, and Business Analyst application development teams to understand business technical requirements and designs
•   Contribute to overall automation framework design and enhancements

Key Responsibilities:

•   Support the enhancement of existing LYVE Cloud access control and security vulnerability monitoring applications
•   Create automated LYVE Cloud Information Security metrics dashboard
•   Potential opportunity for creating and enhancing databases

About you:

 
•   Knowledge of Web Services Restful API
•   Familiar with Java Spring Boot with Angular and knowledge on JHipster
•   Some basic knowledge on WildFly (formerly known as JBoss) and Apache Web Server
•   Strong Python scripting knowledge
•   Postgres and MySQL Database experience with basic PLSQL
•   Basic knowledge of Linux bash commands
•   Experience with AWS ELK Stack
•   Familiarity with Mitre framework
•   Experience with integrating code with APIs
•   Experience with automated Grafana or Tableau Dashboard creation
•   Strong project management skills to manage projects in a matrix team environment
•   Ability to quickly learn and apply your learning to improve our audit preparations

Your experience includes:

 
•   Currently in school to obtain a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or other engineering degree
•   Strong Python and Java programming skills
•   Demonstrated flexibility to contribute to multi-disciplinary projects
•   Demonstrated combination of leadership and strong teamwork skills applied to initiate, execute, and collaborate on significant projects
