Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate for the open Cellular Electrophysiologist Post-Doctoral Fellow position will work within the Neuroscience Department.
  • The position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be part of a results- orientated ion channel team driving drug discovery projects.
  • The successful candidate will be working in the laboratory conducting electrophysiology experiments on recombinant cells and primary cells using the manual patch clamp technique and/or automated patch clamp platforms. Work will be comprised of compound, peptide, antibody profiling to study structure activity relationships, mechanism of action studies, establishing in vitro in vivo correlations.
  • The successful candidate should have a proven track record in the field of ion channel research with an understanding of the patch clamp technique, pharmacology, neuroscience and should be interested in the drug discovery process.
  • The successful candidate will be working as part of an established electrophysiology group and will be involved in multidisciplinary project teams.
  • The successful candidate should have strong team player skills, the ability to communicate effectively and the growth potential and desire to be part of a pharmaceutical drug discovery team.

Minimum required education:
completed PhD preferred or will you have completed your PhD within the next year, in Field of Neuroscience but it could be cardiovascular or any field related.

Required experience and skills:
Experience with patch-clamp technique, ion channel structure, function expression, pharmacology, neuroscience.
