Competitive compensation package:

Annual Salary Range: $43,801.18 - $54,872.83

Hourly Pay Rate: $21.058258 - $26.381170

Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

In addition to competitive wages, Clackamas County offers an attractive benefits package and incentives for employees in regular status positions.

Generous paid time off package, including:

• 12 hours of vacation accrued per month
• 8 hours of sick accrued per month
• 10 paid holidays and 1 personal day per year

The Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development | Dog Services Division is seeking a highly motivated team player with a professional and positive attitude, who is organized, detail-oriented, and can remain flexible and adaptable to changing work assignments. If selected for this position, your main focus will be on preparing, processing, reconciling, balancing, adjusting and maintaining accounting and dog licensing records, supporting documents and routine account summaries and reports.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have strong computer, data entry, and written & oral communication skills as well as problem-solving and critical reasoning skills. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for tasks, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and providing daily customer service.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable (Any combination of relevant experience, education and/or training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills, may substitute for the required one (1) year of experience.)
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience processing daily deposit and preparing financial documents according to established procedures
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing customer service to both external and internal customers
• Strong organizational skills

Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
• An Associates Degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting or a closely related field
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing customer service to both external and internal customers
• Exposure to, training in or experience with PeopleSoft or similar financial management software
• Exposure to, training in or experience with Crystal or similar report generating software
• Experience explaining rules, laws, regulations or complex policy or procedure to customers

Tasks for this specific position also include the following:

• Pull source data from permitting and licensing systems and reviews submitted information working with the customer and veterinarians to determine the type(s) of license needed; processes license fees. Updates, maintains and monitors the licensing system; balances cash drawer receipts and prepares deposit. Processes customer transactions (such as adoptions, reclaim of dogs) in person, over the phone and online.
• Provides internal and external customer service; responds to a variety of public requests related to all aspects of the Dog Services division in person, by phone and email; handles transactions, provides information, direction and referrals to customers at lobby counter, by phone and by email.
• Provides general administrative support. Receives bills, payment requests and invoices and verifies charges for accuracy. Prepare and process payment vouchers, travel requests and other documents ensuring proper authorization and conformity to County procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE

This position currently works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.

The mission of the Department of Transportation and Development (DTD) is to assist residents and businesses in creating vibrant, sustainable communities through innovative and responsive public service.

DTD is responsible for a broad range of county services involving land use planning and permitting, building permits, county code enforcement, solid waste and recycling, road construction and maintenance, surveying, plat approvals, public land corner restoration and dog services. The county's urban renewal programs also report to DTD.
