Senior Analyst (Data Analytics)

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Medicus Economics is seeking highly skilled and motivated full-time Senior Analysts to work on data analytics projects in Boston, MA or Philadelphia, PA.
Prerequisites include:
  • Advanced proficiency with SAS, including BASE, MACRO and Proc SQL
  • Substantive, hands-on experience managing and analyzing large health insurance claims databases using SAS
  • Experience synthesizing and communicating research findings in documents and slide decks
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively (with teams typically 2-5 people in size)
  • The ability to work on multiple complex assignments simultaneously
  • Sustained attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ideal candidates will have:
  • A master’s degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Relevant, paid employment in a healthcare consulting or research environment
  • Experience working with other types of health data (g., data from clinical trials, electronic medical records, or registries)
  • Proficiency with Stata, R and/or Python
  • Knowledge of and experience with applied statistics/econometrics

Duties will involve contributing to all phases of project development, execution, and delivery, including:
  • Implementing technically sound statistical programming and methodology for complex real-world evidence projects
  • Writing code to manipulate, filter and restructure large databases, construct analytical variables and perform statistical analyses and modeling
  • Reviewing code to ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency
  • Developing and maintaining libraries of reusable code
  • Supporting other staff members in the production of client deliverables for data analysis projects, including study protocols, statistical analysis plans and project reports
  • Collecting, summarizing, and evaluating information from clinical, policy and healthcare industry sources to help provide background and context for projects
  • Drafting, editing, and proofing proposals, memos, reports, slide decks, visualizations, and other client deliverables
  • Documenting and auditing analytic processes and deliverables
  • Assisting senior staff with cultivating and developing client relationships
