Archival Intern

Job Description 

Academy Award-nominated director/producer Matia Karrell’s production company, The Red Door Films, is seeking an Archival Intern for Spring 2023. Here you will have the opportunity to work with our editing and production teams to research archival footage and information regarding WWII and the Women Airforce Service Pilots. 

This is an unpaid internship for school credit. Hours are flexible, but looking for a minimum commitment of 10 hours/week. All the material organization will be done on Airtable.

Qualifications:
  • Able to give 10+ hours a week (including company meetings TUE)
  • Knowledge of online media archives
  • High level of organization
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Understanding of Independent Film studio
  • Self-motivated and independent
  • Prior knowledge of Airtable is strongly preferred 

The Red Door Films, a busy production company with projects in post-production and development, is seeking interns to assist the producer and director in editing. The Red Door Films is currently working on a documentary, Coming Home: Fight for a Legacy, about the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), the often-forgotten women heroes of WWII.

This will give you a hands-on understanding of documentary filmmaking, editing, producing, and production management. Through this mentorship program, you will connect with women who want you to succeed and will guide you along the way. Seeking enthusiastic candidates with strong computer skills who are highly organized, self-starters, and curious about all facets of the film production process.
