About the Public Programs Coordinator role:

BRIC seeks a Public Programs Coordinator to support the Education team and Teaching Artists in the successful execution of program workshops, seasonal Family Days, and Group Visits Program through scheduling, coordination and equipment oversight. 

What You’ll Do in the Role:

The Public Programs Coordinator will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Director of Youth Education & Family Programs:  

  • Support the Group Visits Program by conducting outreach to partner organizations and responding to requests from schools and community groups. 
  • Greet and welcome visiting school and youth groups. 
  • Coordinate and track communication with partner institutions for public program requests.
  • Work with the education department staff to coordinate seasonal ‘Family Days’ including: staffing events with BRIC teaching artists, ordering supplies, maintaining inventory. 
  • Coordinate youth education and family activities at request of partner organizations and in collaboration with other BRIC departments.
  • Allocate materials for BRIC House group visits program and public programs. 
  • Work with the Education Team to assign Teaching Artists to group visits and public program workshops, overseeing the availability of 30-40 Teaching Artists. 
  • Complete booking sheets for BRIC House education events to be reviewed by the Director of Youth Education & Family Programs. 
  • Deliver equipment and supplies to workshop sites. 
  • Track expenses for education budget programs.
  • Collaborate with BRIC curatorial department to schedule tours and implement BRIC programming in-house and off-site.
  • Function as Teaching Artist substitute for public programs as needed.

  • Experience and qualifications: 
  • 2+ years in a non-profit setting
  • Cultural institution experience preferred
  • 3+ years as a teaching artist, museum educator 
  • Communication: An emotionally intelligent, values, and results-driven team player who can collaborate across departments and at all levels of the organization. An excellent communicator who prioritizes customer service.
  • Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: Brings experience operationalizing equity within this role.

Other Things to Know:

  • Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $45-50K. 
  • Status and location: This is a full-time, non-exempt role based in our Brooklyn office.

BRIC currently pays 100% of the premium for employee medical, dental and vision coverage starting on the first of the month after 2 months of employment.
