WHAT YOU'LL DO

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of duties in support of warehouse shipping, receiving, delivery, and storing functions in support of campus operations.
There is currently one full-time (12 months/year, 40 hours/week) vacancy located at Moorpark College.

Moorpark College, one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District, was founded in 1967. SALARY PLACEMENT
New Employees: Generally, new employees are placed on the first step of the appropriate range of the salary schedule.
Current Employees: An employee who is promoted will be placed on the salary step of the new range of the appropriate salary schedule that provides a minimum increase comparable to a one-step increase in salary.

This recruitment is being conducted to establish a list of eligible candidates that will be used to fill district-wide, current and upcoming, temporary and regular vacancies for the duration of the list, not to exceed one year.

Representative Duties
Receive materials, equipment and supplies; unload and inspect shipments for damage and compliance with purchase order specifications, packing slips, and safety standards; report problems to appropriate parties; prepare and weigh damaged, excess, and incorrect items and return to vendors. E

Perform the routine and special delivery and pick-up of mail, materials, supplies, and equipment, both on-site and off-site; adjust mail routes and schedules as needed; load and unload trucks. E

Arrange and store items in the appropriate section of the warehouse or assigned facility; mark and label materials and equipment for identification purposes. .E

Perform stock rotation; maintain adequate stock levels and order stock; maintain shelves and stock in a clean and orderly condition. E

Conduct general inspection and service on campus vehicles; clean inside and outside of vehicles; fuel vehicles; schedule and deliver vehicles for more extensive repairs. E

Wrap, pack, load and prepare items for shipment and delivery; pull, pack, sort, and ship items to various locations. E

Assist with warehouse and physical plant inventories; use a computer and electronic interface device to maintain an inventory tracking system. E

Prepare, submit, and maintain a variety of records, logs, and reports related to warehouse operations including purchase orders, shipping/receiving records, inventory and equipment records, and emergency orders; input receiving and purchase order data into computer system and maintain related computerized records. E

Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles including trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, electric carts, hand carts, dollies, and various hand and power tools. E

Move, transfer, and deliver furniture and equipment and assist in set-ups for a variety of activities held at the college including seminars, meetings and other events. E

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Six months of experience receiving and storing materials in a warehouse environment.

Valid California driver's license

ELIGIBILITY LIST Upon completion of the examination, the eligibility list will be compiled by combining the final examination score with applicable seniority and veteran's credits, if any. The candidates will be ranked according to their total score on the eligibility list. Certification will be made from the highest three ranks of the eligibility list. This eligibility list will be used to fill current vacancies for up to one year from the date of the technical interview. PROBATIONARY PERIOD All appointments made from eligibility lists for initial appointment or for promotion, with certain exceptions, shall be probationary for a period of six (6) months or one hundred thirty (130) days of paid service, whichever is longer. Classified management, police, and designated executive classifications shall be probationary for a period of one (1) year of paid service from initial appointment or promotion.
