Executive Director - Hastings Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) and Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce
This newly created Executive Director position will oversee the Hastings Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) and Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce. The Executive Director will work with the Board of Directors to provide direction in making Hastings a community of choice for talented people and quality businesses. The Executive Director will plan long-range policies for achievement of community goals and growth of Hastings. They will advocate on behalf of members and the community of Hastings on statewide and national issues. They will work collaboratively with retail, service, industrial, civic and professional businesses and organizations. They will also create visionary and strategic plans to direct and support community growth.
The Executive Director operates under a joint entity executive committee and will oversee and manage the finances of both the HEDC, and the Chamber of Commerce. The budgets combine include approximately $900,000 in annual revenue and expenses. They will be responsible for the oversight and financial growth for both entities. Currently each entity is financially stable and has healthy reserves to support future growth. The director will also be responsible of personnel and managing a team of 6 individuals.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a field of study directly related to Economic Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related, as well as have a proven record of service as a professional economic development role, with a minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in the field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Any equivalent combination of experience, training and education which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
The joint position is a highly competitive salary range for the Executive Director of $125,000 - $160,000 and is negotiable dependent upon the hired candidate’s qualifications and experience.
