The Summer Analyst Internship Program

About the Program

SWS’ Summer Analyst Internship Program is a competitive rotational program that will expand your skills in a collaborative environment (and teach you what each part of the above paragraph means). You will be introduced to corporate and public finance investment banking, learn about SWS’ role in the financial services field, the relationship between banking and trading, and the financial products involved. Summer Analysts will assist junior bankers with financial modeling, conducting research, analyzing data, preparing pitch books, and providing general support to senior bankers. The program is expected to take place for 8-weeks in June and July, 2023.

Who Do We Want?

We are seeking diverse, dynamic, and energetic Summer Analysts who are hardworking, eager to learn, and passionate about the finance industry. We hire critical thinkers who are confident and comfortable facing senior leaders, learn quickly, have high levels of personal motivation, integrity, and collaboration, and are able to work independently on multiple projects. Students with any and every major are encouraged to apply – but foundational economics, finance, statistics, calculus, and public policy classes will serve Summer Analysts well.

What the Program Requires

  • You must be an undergraduate (rising sophomore or older) or graduate student
  • You must be a US citizen, US permanent resident, or student authorized to work in the US
  • You should have a firm command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as excellent written and oral communication skills

Collaborative Partnership: 2-Year Internship with SWS & S&P 100-listed Biotech Firm

SWS is also pleased to have a collaborative partnership with an S&P 100 biopharmaceutical company that allows SWS to select up to two interns each year, each of whom is given the opportunity to attend a separate 10-week paid internship the following summer in the CFO's office of the company. This partnership allows interns interested in both investment banking and corporate finance the opportunity to see the financial services world from both perspectives – and provides another avenue for alums of SWS’ program to gain valuable experience and access to future job opportunities. No additional application is necessary – however, SWS is especially interested in applicants with a desire to learn about corporate finance/treasury operations or the life sciences.
