SNY Technical Operations Internship Summer 2023
The Tech Ops Internship is intended to provide an undergraduate level student hands-on experience in multi-platform technical areas in Broadcast Operations. The candidate will be assisting Tech Managers and Technicians in the daily operations of the studio/control room environments. Job duties and responsibilities include:
· Assist in accomplishing the responsibilities of “on-air” technical operations.
· Observe and learn specific duties connected to various types of equipment systems.
· Shadow staff and freelance employees as they operate those various systems.
· Learn to support and perform other daily related duties at SNY as needed.
· Can attend the internship for a minimum of 16 hours per week.
Qualifications:
· Currently a Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree majoring in Media or Television Production, final semester preferred (for Summer placements, candidate should be a rising Senior).
· A self-motivated individual with a passion for broadcasting, who is capable of multitasking and functioning in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
· Solid verbal communication skills.
· Strong aptitude and hands-on experience in broadcast equipment systems and problem-solving.
· Desire to learn new digital technologies.
· Experience with non-linear newsroom systems a plus.
· Position requires working some nights and weekends.
· Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by SNY.
· Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.
Hourly rate: $15
