Foster Family Social Worker (Family Resource Coordinator)

We are looking to fill 2 part time (22.5 hours and 17 hours per week) positions in our Family Services Department.

This position is primarily home based, with 1 required office day per week, and ability to work from home on other days.

The Family Resource Coordinator/Social Worker for Intensive Foster Care is a member of our Bridges Homeward Family Services/IFC Team responsible for recruitment, assessment, training and support of foster parents in our Intensive Foster Care Program

The Family Resource Coordinator/Social Worker Duties include:
  • Organizing and facilitating recruitment activities (attending fairs, speaking at groups) to identify prospective IFC families, especially families who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community or families of color.
  • Organizes and co-facilitates MAPP (Massachusetts Approach to Partnerships in Parenting) training for prospective foster families
  • Facilitates support groups for foster families and identifies ongoing training opportunities for families.
  • Provides post-placement support to families, in collaboration with DCF and the Intensive Foster Care Social Worker
  • Participates in multi program on-call rotation to provide support to clients experiencing crisis after hours.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Masters degree in social work, psychology, education or Bachelors degree in social work or related field with experience working in child welfare or with high-risk youth.
  • Professional licensure required within 6 months of hire(LSW, LCSW, LICSW or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in child welfare services preferred;
  • Experience in adoption, foster care and serving families of color preferred.
  • Seeking candidates of color or who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community

  • Valid driver's license and properly insured vehicle
  • Clearance of background checks as required by state and federal law.
