Summer Intern - Portfolio Analytics

ClearBridge Investments is offering an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students looking to gain experience in the Asset Management industry. Our 10-week summer internship program will provide exposure to and enhancement of your skills and knowledge of the equity investment business. Our interns gain hands-on working experience as well as the opportunity to participate in our development program which includes: learning about the various ClearBridge products and functions as well as our fundamental research process. The interns also get to participate in a group project and other social and volunteer events.

Position Overview
ClearBridge Investments is seeking an intern to join the Portfolio Analytics Team in its New York, NY office. The Portfolio Analytics team is the central source for providing detailed portfolio analysis that aids in understanding investment performance. The team provides accurate and timely analytics to be consumed by the various stakeholders. The ideal candidate highly motivated, works well independently, as well as part of a team, has strong analytical skills and attention to detail in order to be able to multi-task and take on responsibility within a fast paced, demanding work environment.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Conduct detailed portfolio analysis including performance attribution and characteristics
  • Analyze investment related data and to help explain results to various groups such as Portfolio Managers, Sales, Marketing and Client Service teams
  • Assist in providing data to Marketing team to support RFPs/RFIs/DDQs and consultant databases
  • Work on special projects to further enhance organizational goals
  • Research and resolve any data quality issues in the portfolio analysis application
 
Ideal Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
  • A passion for learning about financial markets.
  • High proficiency in all Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with both a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

The intern salary range is targeted for $25 to $35 hourly. Pay offered may vary depending on function, location, experience, year in school.
