The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Processing Technician (PCN 137786) to join our team with the Office of the Commissioner. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Work Shift: First shift, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Location: Middletown, CT

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
  • Managing the background check as well as the physical and drug screening processes required for employees, contractors and students entering the agency
  • Working collaboratively with the agency HR staffing team as well as with facility leadership teams to ensure that all required checks are completed timely and accurately for all as required by agency policy and State regulations
  • Coordinating the process and serving as the point of contact for all of the service providers with whom we contract for these services
  • Maintaining a log to provide auditable proof that the required checks were completed and a status tracking process to inform all key stakeholders in the background check processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years of clerical work experience.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE

One (1) year of the General Experience must have involved a full range of clerical duties as an Office Assistant, Interpreter Clerk or its equivalent.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED

College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of two (2) years.
