The Attorney General's Office is looking to hire a Paralegal in our Insurance & Financial Services Division (IFSD). The Division handles investigations, mediations, and enforcement actions related to banking, securities, insurance products, and other financial services.

Primary Duties:  The Paralegal will provide administrative and investigative support relating to ongoing settlement implementations, mediations, and consumer outreach. The Paralegal will also assist IFSD attorneys in ongoing litigation and related investigations. Such assistance will include organizing and reviewing discovery materials; performing research; managing and reviewing files; entering case information into databases; engaging in extensive communication with consumers, witnesses, experts, and others by mail, electronic mail, and telephone; and assisting in the drafting of various memoranda, consumer advisories, and reports. The Paralegal will also input data into Excel and perform sorts and searches of this data. 

Position Requirements: This is an entry-level paralegal position. B.A./B.S. or equivalent experience preferred. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve, including historically marginalized communities, and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment. We seek an individual committed to working in the public interest. The successful applicant must have a demonstrated ability to complete assignments and complex tasks, follow instructions, be intellectually curious, and produce high quality work product. Effective writing, internet research, and communication skills are required. Experience providing support in a legal setting or with consumer outreach and mediation is a plus. Experience with consumer lending rules, securities regulation, and/or consumer insurance issues is also a plus. Proficiency in programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word is required, and other programming or data analysis experience is also helpful.
