Intern - Data Science

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Science Intern is going to assist the Data Science Team who works to gain experience and skills in the field. Data Science Intern core duties and tasks are – analyzing large amounts of raw information; building products to extract valuable business insights; identifying valuable data sources and automating collection processes; undertaking preprocessing of structured and unstructured data; proposing solutions and strategies and combining models through ensemble modeling. Other duties include executing all other documentation and administrative tasks as assigned by the management.
To ensure success in this, field, the intern must possess the following skills – experience in data mining; good knowledge of machine-learning and operations research; good understanding of R, SQL, Databricks and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java, and C++; and an analytical mindset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interpreting data to create visualizations that help identify trends or patterns in data
  • Developing new methods for collecting data, including designing surveys or experiments, and recruiting participants
  • Identifying opportunities to apply new technologies to improve existing processes or procedures
  • Communicating with clients to gain a better understanding of their needs and goals
  • Providing recommendations based on research findings and data analysis
  • Interpreting data to create visualizations that help identify trends or patterns in data
  • Recommending improvements to existing predictive models or creating new models from scratch
  • Conducting research on specific topics using various data collection methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, and application of statistical models
  • Identifying opportunities for growth within an organization by analyzing data on customer preferences and buying habits

QUALIFICATIONS:
Working towards a Bachelor's degree (prefer rising Senior) or Master's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, data analytics or another closely related field. Specialization in AI/ ML as part of their curriculum.
