MediaScience Business Development Internship (Part-time, Remote, Business Focused)

(NOTE: This internship is unpaid)

MediaScience® is in its fourteenth year of operation and has first-class research facilities located in Austin, Chicago, New York, Perth, Australia, and soon the UK. The company specializes in custom lab-based research and utilizes an array of scientific tools to tackle client research questions, including eye-tracking, biometrics, facial response coding, implicit and reaction time measures, traditional dial testing, and traditional survey measures. The MediaScience team is made up of a team of 60+, including Ph.D. scientists who specialize in various fields in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, statistics, communication, and advertising - along with a large support team of data collection teams, video editors, and software programmers. Clients of MediaScience span the realm of broadcast networks, brands, digital content providers, app creators, advertisers, and much more. Research topics often include advertising effectiveness, brand integration effectiveness, program content development, usability testing, and a variety of related topics. MediaScience takes a method agnostic approach to research and works closely with clients to design research that best meets their needs and specific research questions.

Our Business Development Internship of Summer semester 2023 (May through August) offers candidates a part-time opportunity (4 hours per day) to learn the ropes of what it takes to grow and develop the leading media and advertising innovation research firm in the world.

We are looking for a motivated individual who can bring a growth oriented mindset, interested in learning about the media and advertising industry and the application of neuroscientific research to improve content experiences. Ideal candidates are highly intelligent, self-starters, with a desire to learn about the full sales process and best practices when it comes to the science of influence.

We select candidates based on the potential we see in people and how we can help that individual grow. You’ll be immersed in impactful work, all while learning about human behavior. 

Our Expectations:

During your placement, collaborating closely with our business development team, you will become well-versed in marketing strategy and research business opportunities impacting the largest companies and the biggest brands in North America. You will learn and apply conceptual selling techniques and develop data driven presentations. You may be privy to sensitive information regarding the future of media and advertising, candidates will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. 

Supervision: Business Development Team

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently studying towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Experience with the Google Suite (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet, Calendar and Slides)
  • Experience with drafting documents and slideshow presentations
  • Outstanding work ethic and interpersonal skills
  • Solutions and results oriented, resourceful, and creative
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with specialized teams
  • You enjoy analyzing the market and thinking critically to uncover insights that will help influence business decisions


Timing:

This internship will last for 4 months, with the potential for a full time contract offer post-placement. We are currently looking for candidates for our 2023 Summer Cohort
