Project Manager I

The Project Manager supports and develops the program/budget scheduling and planning, including recommendations for program objectives, operating schedules, and resource requirements. 

  
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions 
  • Experience in the support and development of program/budget scheduling and planning, including recommendations for program objectives, operating schedules, and resource requirements. 
  • Prepare documentation in support of milestone decisions and reviews.
  • Responsible for the Cost Account Management (CAM) of all technical, cost, and schedule aspects of the project(s).  
  • Coordinate the preparation or support of proposals, work statements and specifications, budgets and financial terms of contract. 
  • Development and execution of a program plan meeting contractual commitments.  
  • Establish and flow-down customer requirements. 
  • Responsible for Earned Value (cost, schedule and technical performance) and establish milestones and monitor adherence to master schedule, utilize Risk Management to identify program problems and develop solutions, such as resource allocation or changing contractual direction.  
  • Manage relationships with Prime contractor as well as associated vendors to ensure responsiveness to the customer requirements and executable at acceptable risk within contracted price and schedule.  
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes. 
  • Coordinates the preparation of change proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. 
  • Represents the Program Manager to the customer and internal stakeholders on program activities, assists in program review sessions with customer and internal stakeholders to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance as directed by the Program Manager. 
  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Supervisory Responsibility 
Responsible for PMO staff as assigned.  
  
Work Environment 
This job operates in professional office and facility environments.  We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smart phones, tablets, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other presentation materials.   There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally. 
  
Physical Demands 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb and stand.  Lifting of up to 25 lbs may occur. Employee will be required to travel (at organization expense) in automobile and/or aircraft. 
  
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 
This is a full-time position based remotely. The ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends as needed is required. 
  
Travel   
Work from home with 40% - 60% travel, based on organizational needs.  
  
Required Education and Experience   
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field required.   
  • 5+ years of experience as an advanced responsibility manager, or similar relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. 
  
Work Authorization/Security Clearance 
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) 
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, a background check after a conditional offer of employment has been accepted 
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.  Have/maintain a clean driving record.  
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card
