Summer Internship

Marianne Boesky Gallery is currently looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented college-level intern for a minimum 8-week period during the summer season at our Chelsea location. The role would focus on archival research and gallery operations and maintenance. This internship is a wonderful opportunity for someone interested in a career in a contemporary art gallery.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include digital and physical archiving of artist materials, research into secondary market works and represented artists, including provenance, exhibition history, and bibliographical information, and inventory and organization of the gallery library. The scope of the internship can be flexible based on interest.

QUALIFICATIONS
*Excellent research, data collection, and report-writing capabilities
*Strong interpersonal communications skills, both oral and written
*Self-starter with proven ability to work independently, as well as prioritize and work on multiple assignments simultaneously

Our internship program is a great way to learn about the fundamentals of how a contemporary art gallery functions. Students can expect to learn about a range of contemporary artists, gallery operations, and techniques in archiving and provenance research. Candidates with a background and interest in contemporary art, art history, history, and archivism are encouraged to apply.
